Job Title: Chef de Partie

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef de Partie to join our team at a prestigious University kitchen in Cambridge. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a daily changing menu, working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes from scratch, using fresh ingredients and adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and high standards of quality.
  • Liaise with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to plan and prepare daily menus, taking into account dietary requirements and special requests.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean and well-maintained, and that the kitchen is kept tidy and organized at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie in a similar environment, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, college, university, or contract catering setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, and ability to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including early and midday starts, and every other weekend off.
