Position Overview

The Senior HVAC Commissioning Specialist will oversee and guide a dedicated team of engineers and technicians on-site, ensuring that all commissioning tasks are executed, finalized, and approved to meet the expectations of the HVAC - FläktGroup UK management and the clients' commissioning representatives.

This role primarily involves hands-on supervision rather than solely managerial duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute commissioning activities for Air Handling Units (AHUs) and other HVAC equipment as per established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for all site operations, aligning with client and contractor requirements.
  • Work alongside fellow commissioning engineers to ensure the timely and budget-conscious delivery of the commissioning program.
  • Effectively manage resources to meet project timelines and highlight any potential risks related to resources, finances, or schedules to the Project Manager.
  • Report directly to the Project Manager and Commissioning Manager regarding project progress and challenges.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a relevant electrical qualification is essential.
  • Prior experience in HVAC systems is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of airflow principles and measurement techniques, including electricity, pressure, temperature, and humidity.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal, to comprehend technical documentation and client systems.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with Office365 and general computer literacy.
  • Experience working at heights, with a preference for candidates familiar with MEWP and harness usage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC and MODBUS systems.
  • Ability to produce high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Possession of relevant safety training certifications is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Capacity to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the factory for the timely delivery of necessary equipment and support warranty processes.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with the site team, management, and other contractors.
  • Consideration of cost management to assist in maintaining project budgets.
  • Supervise cleaning teams during deep cleaning of AHUs to ensure compliance with performance standards.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of the commissioning program across various levels.
  • Must hold a valid driving license for travel between work sites.
  • First Aid training certification is beneficial.

  • Preference for candidates residing in proximity to major operational areas.
  • Specific electrical certifications relevant to the field are desirable.
  • Experience with Data Centres is a significant advantage.
  • Possession of SSSTS or SMSTS certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
