The Senior HVAC Commissioning Specialist will oversee and guide a dedicated team of engineers and technicians on-site to ensure that all commissioning tasks are executed, finalized, and approved to meet the expectations of the HVAC - FläktGroup UK management and the clients' commissioning representatives.
This role primarily involves hands-on supervision rather than solely managerial duties.
Key responsibilities include executing the commissioning processes for Air Handling Units (AHUs) in accordance with established protocols, as well as other FläktGroup equipment as necessary.
Collaboration with the Project Manager is essential to ensure that the team adheres to health and safety regulations pertinent to each site activity, aligning with client and contractor requirements.
Working alongside fellow commissioning engineers, you will contribute to the timely and budget-conscious delivery of the commissioning schedule.
Effective resource management is crucial to meet project timelines.
It is your responsibility to identify and communicate any potential risks related to resources, finances, timelines, or other factors to the FläktGroup Project Manager.
You will report directly to the Project Manager and the Commissioning Manager.
Qualifications- A qualification in electrical engineering is required.
- Previous experience in HVAC systems is highly advantageous.
- Understanding of airflow principles and measurement techniques, including electricity, pressure, temperature, and humidity, is essential.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is necessary for understanding documentation and client systems.
- Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving are important.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
- Familiarity with Office365 and general computer skills are required.
- Experience with working at heights is preferred, including familiarity with MEWP and harness usage.
- Demonstrated experience with HVAC and MODBUS systems is necessary.
- Capability to produce high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) is a key requirement.
- Possession of relevant safety training certifications, such as IPAF, is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, are essential.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines is crucial.
- Coordination with the factory for the delivery of necessary items and support for warranty processes is expected.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with the site team, management, and contractors is vital.
- Consideration of cost management to assist in maintaining project budgets is important.
- Supervision of cleaning teams during deep cleaning of AHUs to ensure compliance with performance standards is required.
- Active management of site resources to facilitate the commissioning program is expected.
- A valid driving license is necessary for travel between work sites.
- First Aid training certification is a plus.
- Residence in or near the London area is preferred.
- Specific electrical certifications in the relevant field are advantageous.
- Experience with Data Centres is highly desirable due to familiarity with ASHRAE commissioning stages.
- Possession of a current SSSTS or SMSTS card is beneficial but not mandatory.
