About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our development teams and drive the delivery of our customer-facing tools. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for leading four talented teams covering the development of our AWS/Databricks, Salesforce, Billing, and Full Stack platforms.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and nurturing people, evolving processes, and engaging with stakeholders and product teams. You will be responsible for setting up engineering processes and delivering change, and will need to speak the language of top-notch software engineers.

We are looking for someone who has a background in building systems themselves, but now, their ability to lead and engage in peer-level discussions, alongside helping to architect and design our future, is what counts most.

We offer a hybrid working arrangement, with the option for up to 50% remote work. Our office in Stroud is a great place to work, with free onsite parking and a train station just two minutes away. However, we are looking for someone who will appreciate the importance of human face-to-face interaction and will be present and visible in the office for part of the week.

  • Technical Excellence and Innovation:
    • Stay informed about the latest trends in software development and advocate for the adoption of technologies that align with our environmental goals.

    • Demonstrated expertise within the last five years in one or more of the following areas: Web development (NodeJS, React, Angular), Salesforce, Databricks, AWS, energy billing systems, or similar platforms.
    • Exceptional leadership skills, thriving in a dynamic and demanding development setting.
    • A solid grasp of agile methodologies with a track record of successful project completions.
    • High emotional intelligence with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
