As a Technical Systems Architect, you will engage in a client-facing capacity, contributing to the execution of a diverse array of intricate and demanding technical initiatives for Roke's National Security clientele.

Your role will position you as a reliable advisor to Roke's clients, requiring a high degree of integrity, diplomacy, and resolve across a broad spectrum of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Serve as the technical lead and design authority within a team, responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and supporting a variety of products and delivered solutions.
  • Facilitate the development of applications aligned with product investment, adhering to a defined product roadmap.
  • Utilize your system design expertise across various business domains, encompassing a range of established and emerging technologies, including electronic warfare (EW), RF cyber, applications, middleware, and radio bearers.
  • Engage in technical decision-making and problem-solving, guiding engineering teams effectively.
  • Lead technical bids and produce high-quality technical documentation.
  • Plan and execute Integration, Validation & Verification strategies to mitigate delivery risks.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of system installations and integrations, both domestically and internationally.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to reach consensus on the feasibility of solution options, assessing associated benefits and risks.

Key Requirements...

  • Experience with system engineering lifecycles, including tailoring and planning.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with commercial managers and civil contractors to facilitate system installation and deployment as per client requirements.
  • Experience in chairing design reviews.
  • Proficient in requirements elicitation and management.
  • Skilled in risk and opportunity management.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and baseline development throughout the lifecycle.
  • Understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW) and familiarity with both military and civil communications systems.
  • Appreciation for hardware, firmware, and software, including Software Defined Radio (SDR) with high-speed ADCs and RF subsystems.
  • Familiarity with production environments, including the design and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and test fixtures.
  • Knowledge of product qualification and safety regulations, relevant legislation, and sign-off processes.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and legislation, along with product sign-off requirements.
  • Familiarity with EMC regulations and control techniques, working collaboratively with specialists for sign-off.
