L3Harris in the UK are part of our ICI division, working closely with UK Government and Security Agencies in areas of crypto/cyber security, electronic warfare, counter drone capabilities and situation awareness projects.

Job Overview

We are actively recruiting at all levels for a Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software applications using object-oriented design and implementation principles
  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan, implement and deliver software projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure software meets requirements and is reliable, robust and maintainable
  • Document and plan software team activities, including setting up and monitoring metrics throughout the software project lifecycle
  • Estimate software engineering activities and provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members
Requirements
  • Strong experience of object-oriented design and implementation principles
  • Previous software engineering experience in languages such as C++, Python, C# and Java
  • Lifecycle experience, including planning, requirements, architecture, design, implementation, unit test, integration test, release and associated reviews
  • Track record of producing reliable, robust, intuitive and maintainable software
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan and manage software team activities
  • Experience of setting up, monitoring and reporting appropriate metrics throughout the software project lifecycle
  • Experience with estimating software engineering activities
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
