Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage Engineering projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will supervise jobs for the welders/fabricators/machinists and arrange the staff to site to complete the work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage Engineering projects from start to finish
  • Supervise jobs for the welders/fabricators/machinists and arrange the staff to site to complete the work
  • Quotations, drawings, purchase ordering, overseeing jobs in progress and quality inspection
  • Maintain levels of the stock - metal and welding consumables, PPE, Machine/equipment maintenance and general health and safety
  • Read, understand and break down engineering drawings
  • Estimating and quoting for work
  • Answering customer enquiries
  • Proficient with ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and BS EN 1090
  • Experience of working to high health and safety standards
  • IT competence (excel, word, data entry, outlook as a basic. Project manager and CAD advantageous)
  • Strong leadership
  • Able to multitask
  • Attend meetings with high profile clients
  • Proactive and driven individual
  • Assisting the Engineering manager with sourcing of new work/projects and tendering process

Requirements:

  • Valid driving licence
  • Welding inspection/competence or RWC qual.
  • SMSTS qualification
  • Project Management experience
  • Crane and Forklift operator
