About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bid Modeller / Commercial Manager to join our UK Transport Business as a key member of our commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks in liaison with the Bid Director and Bid Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of bid teams and lead on the development of winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks.
  • Implement these winning strategies into financial models taking account of project risks and company commercial expectations.
  • Work alongside the Bid Director to present these commercial strategies through the organisation's governance process, helping gain approval from senior stakeholders.
  • Work with the Commercial Director to help manage financial risk and opportunity across the business through both the bidding and project delivery phase.
  • Work with project managers and directors during the project delivery phase to help manage commercial risk and opportunities at a project level.
  • Work with our internal business finance team to ensure that project-related risk is appropriately managed within our project financial systems.
  • Advise teams on commercial contractual issues as and when the need arises.

About You

We are looking for an experienced bid modeller / commercial manager with a strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract and experience of bidding civil engineering consultancy frameworks in the transport sector. You will have a passion for tendering civil engineering projects and enjoy the commercial aspects of winning and delivering projects.
