About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Visitor Services Assistant to join our team at the University of Oxford. As a Visitor Services Assistant, you will provide a warm welcome to visitors and assist with enquiries, ensuring a positive experience for all.

Working under the supervision of the Visitor Services Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring visitor safety and security, as well as providing introductions to visiting groups.

This is a permanent, part-time post, working 22 hours per week, spread across Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. You will be required to cover additional evening events and work on bank holidays.

As a Visitor Services Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to visitor enquiries
  • Assisting with the security and safety of the building and Museum collection
  • Encouraging donations and conversions to Gift Aid
  • Providing introductions to visiting groups

About You

We are looking for an individual with a confident and proactive approach to dealing with problems and issues. You will have a positive attitude and a desire to gain knowledge of the Museum and share this with our visitors.

Ideally, you will have experience working in a museum or heritage visitor attraction, and experience working in a similar customer-focussed environment.
