Substance Misuse Lead Nurse Opportunity

Leaders in Care, a renowned charity service, is seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Lead Nurse to join their specialist addictions clinic in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior RGN or RMN with a passion for drug and alcohol treatment to contribute to the UK's leading provider in this field.

The successful candidate will work in a busy detoxification clinic, providing overall clinical management to front-line staff and ensuring integrated pathways for service users requiring treatment for health needs related to their addiction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in clinical audit under the direction of the Regional Lead Nurse
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the service to achieve contractual output targets
  • Effectively manage and develop nursing staff, participating in core training as required
  • Work with the Lead Doctor and/or Non-Medical Prescriber to formulate, plan, and implement individual treatment programs for service users

This includes supporting nurses assisting detoxifications from substances across operational sites.

It is preferable that the successful candidate has experience in vaccinations, including BBV screening, Hepatitis B/C screening, use of the CIWA-AR/COWS tool, and alcohol and opiate detoxification.
