Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Purchasing Associate to join our Guinness & Signature team within the Buying department. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Buyer and the broader team to meet sales, inventory, and profit objectives. A strong passion and enthusiasm for product development are essential to contribute effectively to our collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, as well as with the Buying, Merchandising, and Product Technology teams.
- Collaborate with the Creative and Ecommerce teams to foster productive partnerships.
- Support the Buyer in adapting styles pertinent to your category.
- Facilitate critical path meetings within the team, proactively addressing potential challenges and presenting updates to the Buyer and Buying Manager.
- Assist the Buyer in product development and pricing negotiations.
- Work alongside the Buyer to curate a range that appeals to our target demographic, ensuring optimal pricing and quality.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics for both direct and retail channels to implement necessary trade adjustments.
- Handle all administrative tasks required to assist the Buyer and ensure efficient product procurement.
- Stay informed about competitor activities and seasonal product and pricing trends.
- Maintain organization and keep track of important deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Candidate Profile:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in a purchasing support role.
- Experience in Menswear is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A natural talent for identifying emerging fashion trends and a genuine enthusiasm for products.
- Comprehensive understanding of the current market landscape.
- Experience in Design is a plus, adding value to our Guinness & Signature team.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ideally Adobe software.
