About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Underwriting Team Manager to join our team at Legal & General. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of underwriters to deliver high-quality risk management decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of underwriters to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality risk management decisions.
  • Contribute to the planning and forecasting of work to ensure that the team is able to meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that we are delivering the best possible outcomes for our customers.
  • Lead by example and demonstrate exceptional leadership, coaching, and motivational skills to deliver our vision of doing the right things in the right way for our customers, shareholders, and colleagues.
  • Ensure that the team is aware of and compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements and operational risk guidelines.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality risk management decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team of underwriters.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and evaluate risk data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, processes, and procedures, with a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and operational risk guidelines.
