About the Role

The Government Commercial Function is seeking an experienced and skilled professional to take on the role of Head of Commercial Development. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development of the Ministry of Defence's commercial capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of commercial strategies and plans to support the Ministry of Defence's business objectives.
  • Provide expert commercial advice and guidance to senior stakeholders on procurement and contract management.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of commercial objectives.
  • Manage and lead a team of commercial professionals to ensure the effective delivery of commercial services.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks to ensure the delivery of commercial objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial leadership and management.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and contract management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
