Job Summary

The Government Commercial Function is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Procurement to join our team. As a senior commercial leader, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our procurement function and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement function, providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure effective delivery of commercial objectives.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies, working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Manage and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing coaching and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring that procurement activities are aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role, with a strong track record of delivering commercial objectives.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of procurement professionals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring that procurement activities are aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Experience of developing and implementing commercial strategies, working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
