About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Lawyer to join our in-house legal team at South East Water. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in advising on construction and commercial law matters, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including NEC and JCT documents.
  • Provide commercially minded legal advice to our engineering, procurement, and project teams.
  • Advise on adjudication processes and prepare claims as required.
  • Support the Head of Legal in delivering our legal function.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer in England and Wales.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating construction contracts, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.
  • Confident and practical construction and commercial law experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Hybrid working arrangement (2 days per week in the office).
