About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Garden Centre Manager to join our team at a renowned garden centre group in West London.

As a Deputy Garden Centre Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth operation and continued success of the garden centre. You will work closely with the Garden Centre Manager to ensure that customers receive outstanding service and that staff are motivated and productive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of retail staff to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales and profitability
  • Work closely with the Garden Centre Manager to develop and implement business strategies and plans
  • Ensure the garden centre is well-stocked and merchandised to meet customer needs and expectations
  • Monitor and control stock levels, inventory, and cash handling procedures
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure the best possible products and services for customers
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in a garden centre or similar environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a proactive approach to meeting customer needs and expectations
  • Good organisational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A passion for plants and gardening, with a strong knowledge of horticulture and gardening products
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and be available for on-call duties as required
