Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Personal Injury Litigator to join our team at CV-Library. As a Grade A Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing your own casework, acting for claimants in moderate to high-value Personal Injury matters, and providing support to partners and senior solicitors on more extensive and high-value matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Casework: You will be responsible for managing your own casework, including acting for claimants in moderate to high-value Personal Injury matters, and providing support to partners and senior solicitors on more extensive and high-value matters.
  2. Understand Medical Issues: You will need to understand medical issues in the context of PI claims and investigate and apply these to the law in the best interest of the client.
  3. Financial Management: You will be responsible for developing an understanding of financial management of files (WIP, disbursements, billing, and profitability) and work to meet or exceed set targets.
  4. Compliance and Quality: You will ensure compliance with external regulatory bodies, quality of work, and financial performance.
  5. Mentorship: You will serve as a mentor to junior fee earners.
  6. Other Tasks: You will perform any other relevant tasks allocated by management.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Practising Certificate: You must have a valid, clean Practising Certificate / Admitted solicitor with current Practising Certificate in place (no conditions or regulatory body restrictions).
  2. Prior Experience: You must have prior experience in good quality claimant PI matters, Grade A Solicitor experienced in EL/PL.
  3. Litigation Experience: You must have strong litigation experience.
  4. Communication Skills: You must have excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: You must be able to exercise initiative and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
  6. Client Care: You must have sensitivity, confidentiality, and empathy in client matters.
  7. Professional Attitude: You must have a professional attitude and excellent client care.
  8. Attention to Detail: You must have attention to detail and pride in work.
  9. Time Management: You must be adept at time management and working to strict deadlines.
  10. Business Acumen: You must have business acumen.
  11. Service Quality: You must be committed to service quality and client care.
  12. IT Literacy: You must have IT literacy - Microsoft packages and Solicitors Case Management Systems (Partner for Windows preferred).

Preferred Requirements:

  1. Trade Union Experience: You must have previous experience of Trade Union work.
  2. Digital Dictation: You must have previous use of Digital Dictation (BigHand) - training will be provided.
