The Cyber Security Assurance Testing Specialist will report to the Cyber Security Testing Manager and will be part of the Information Systems directorate. This position is permanent.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Cyber Security Assurance Testing Specialist will assist the Cyber Security Testing Manager in maintaining a robust cyber security framework across the IT infrastructure. This involves identifying vulnerabilities and recommending actions to mitigate risks, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical IT services.

DIMENSIONS:

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of approximately 10 cyber security professionals.
  • Financial Responsibility: No direct budget management.
  • Supplier Interaction: Engage with third-party vendors for specialized testing and assurance services.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external technology teams and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance: Collaborate with service owners to ensure adherence to technical standards and drive remediation efforts for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Penetration Testing: Assist in the development of red and purple team exercises based on current cyber threat intelligence.
  • Vulnerability Management: Support the identification, assessment, and prioritization of security vulnerabilities in accordance with company policy.
  • Identity and Access Management: Help enhance identity and access protocols across the organization.
  • Business Forensics: Collaborate with HR and the Data Privacy Officer to handle sensitive data requests appropriately.
  • Risk Analysis: Evaluate risks associated with vulnerabilities and propose remediation strategies.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on remediation activities and their status.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest enhancements to testing procedures based on ongoing evaluations.

The Information Systems Department plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s mission to excel as a Distribution Network Operator. The team focuses on delivering technology solutions and optimizing existing systems to enhance operational efficiency. A commitment to continuous improvement and effective cyber security is fundamental to this mission.

The success of this role is measured by the resilience of the organization’s IT infrastructure in relation to cyber security testing and assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in cyber security within enterprise environments, including cloud platforms.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management in enterprise settings.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations such as Cyber Essentials and GDPR.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Maintain a secure and professional working environment.
