About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineering technicians, ensuring they work in a safe, standard, and efficient manner. They will also work closely with the wider network to harness technical expertise and build solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead, support, and mentor the team to ensure they are working effectively and safely.
  • Technical Expertise: Work with the team and wider network to develop and implement technical solutions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Support the Reliability Engineering Manager in implementing and auditing safety and statutory compliance programs.
  • Equipment Availability: Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to ensure high equipment availability.
  • Training and Development: Ensure sufficient technical coverage by organizing and directing the training program for the team.
  • Project Management: Organize local projects or support EU-level projects as assigned by the manager.
  • Shift Work: Be prepared to work on shift to maintain a strong connection to the team and daily work.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree or NVQ Level 4 in a relevant engineering discipline or served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship.
  • Experience: Significant practical engineering experience, including a supervisory role managing people.
  • Technical Skills: Multiskilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, experience of automated equipment, and excellent computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Health and Safety: Experience of working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialized Engineering Knowledge: Full working knowledge of all specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the Fulfillment Center.
  • PLC Experience: Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
  • Project Management: Project management experience.
  • CMMS Knowledge: Knowledge of CMMS programs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience with Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Process.
