Job Title: Advanced Practitioner/Trainee

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner/Trainee to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to develop their skills and expertise in paediatric oncology. As an Advanced Practitioner/Trainee, you will work autonomously within your agreed scope of practice, stage of training, and level of competence to provide patient-centred quality care.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for the clinical management of paediatric oncology patients. You will use your clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making skills to meet the particular needs of patients and will be expected to take part in the development of protocol-driven management of patients and the administration of medicines and therapies within patient group directives and nurse prescribing dependent on experience and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management in paediatric oncology
  • Work autonomously within your agreed scope of practice, stage of training, and level of competence
  • Develop and implement protocol-driven management of patients and the administration of medicines and therapies
  • Participate in the development of patient group directives and nurse prescribing
  • Acquire expertise in the insertion of all types of central venous catheters (CVCs)
Requirements
  • RSCN or RN Child qualification
  • Externally trained in paediatric oncology (20 credits or above)
  • Physical Assessment of the Child Module level 7
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience within Paediatric Oncology setting
