About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Adolescent Outreach Team at South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust. As a key member of the team, you will provide specialist psychological assessments, care coordination, and consultation to children, young people, and their families.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and management of mental health problems in children and young people. You will also provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing to formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of professionals, including trainee and assistant psychologists, and contribute to the pre- and post-qualification teaching and training of staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments to children and young people, including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, and semi-structured interviews.
  • Formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and management of mental health problems in children and young people.
  • Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing to formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, including the provision of clinical supervision and training to other staff members.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of operational policies and high-quality responsive and accessible services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation, and audit.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist under the domain of Clinical Psychologist.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Post qualification training in the clinical supervision of trainees.
  • Training as part of a CYP IAPT collaborative in a recognised evidenced-based approach.
  • Formal training in the supervision of a psychotherapeutic modality.
  • Further training in a recognised evidence-based psychological therapy.
