About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Pensions Consultant to join our team at WTW. As a qualified actuary with experience working on core UK defined benefit pensions actuarial work, you will be responsible for providing expert advice to clients on a range of actuarial matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide actuarial advice to clients on regular valuations, accounting, PPF levies, individual calculations, and factor reviews.
  • Work with clients on innovative, market-leading projects, such as integrated risk management, liability management, GMP equalisation, plan design strategy, and asset/liability modelling and journey planning strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of more junior staff, delegating effectively and providing development opportunities through mentoring.
  • Work as part of a team, building relationships and liaising effectively with colleagues.

Requirements
  • Experience working as a qualified actuary on core UK defined benefit actuarial work.
  • IFoA qualified actuary (or equivalent).
  • Strong client-service orientation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience of project management of large teams and projects.
  • Proven delegation skills and a desire to coach and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Sense of accountability: owning your work and taking pride in it.
  • Self-starter: interest in continually challenging yourself and willingness to step outside of your comfort zone.
  • Ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how work fits into the broader landscape.
