Job Title: Senior Safety & Resilience Officer

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Rugby, is seeking a Senior Safety & Resilience Officer for an initial 8-week contract. The role will be hybrid working with 4 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an incident record database and analyse incident data to produce quarterly and annual reports for Management meetings.
  • Develop and deliver effective health and safety training to staff (internal and external).
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of organisation's work sites and activities.
  • Work in partnership with the Safety & Resilience Team to develop best practice and ensure resilience of the unit.
  • Support the Safety and Resilience Manager with regard to business continuity and emergency planning.
  • Provide health, safety, or welfare management information, including quarterly newsletters.
  • Support risk assessment work across the Organisation.
  • Respond to employees and Trade Union health and safety complaints/concerns.
  • Support Corporate Property in fire safety measures and coordinate fire drills.
  • Liaise with the HSE or other relevant enforcing authority as necessary.
  • Horizons scan for future changes in health and safety legislation and maintain CPD.
  • Work towards the NEBOSH Diploma with a view to qualifying at the earliest opportunity.
  • Collaborate on health and safety projects as requested.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience within Health & Safety Management.
  • Ability to influence, champion, and enforce excellence in health, safety, and welfare at work.
  • Competent and effective health and safety trainer.
  • Nebosh Certificate Holder, with a willingness to work towards NEBOSH Diploma.
  • Strong communication skills to deal with a range of people.
  • Interest in developing an understanding of and assisting in emergency planning and business continuity.
  • Risk aware, not risk adverse.
