General Manager Job Description

At Wells & Co, we are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our flagship pub and hotel, D'Parys. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food and drink delivery, ensuring guest satisfaction, and driving sales and profit growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall operation of the pub, including front and back of house, to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Lead a motivated team, identifying talent and ensuring succession, while implementing regular employee appraisals and performance management.
  • Conduct regular stock control and compare to usage reports to identify opportunities for tighter control.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the business, including financials, to make informed decisions and drive growth.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a fun and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Previous General Management experience, ideally in a gastro or high-quality fresh food environment.
  • Excellent operational skills, including back office management, and a solid understanding of financials.
  • Ability to lead from the front, develop and train the team, and drive results.
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and the challenges it presents.
  • Energy and motivation to successfully lead and inspire the team.
