Job Title: Health and Safety Director

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management and implementation of the company's SHEQ Systems across Ireland and the UK. This role requires a strong leader who can develop a behavioural safety culture within the organisation, lead a proactive SHEQ approach, and provide advice and information on SHEQ policy and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and assure compliance of the company's H&S, Environmental & Quality Management Systems
  • Lead a pro-active SHEQ approach, agreeing priorities and an annual plan for the department
  • Provide advice, information, direction, policy, and training on SHEQ policy and legislation
  • Champion 'Best Practise' and drive behaviours consistent with company policies through proactive engagement with staff
  • Ensure that Staff well-being initiatives are part of the H&S plans
  • Complete and gain sign-off for an annual budget for SHEQ Department Plan
  • Engage pro-actively with relevant Client representatives
  • Provide the Input Document for the annual Management Review Meeting and provide appropriate support and feedback as part of the management team
  • Analyse and trend H&S data and put in place actions for continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Expert in H&S and ISO systems and able to distil best practice across the company
  • Passionate about the need to deliver SHEQ compliance
  • Able to engage with and influence the key stakeholders of the business
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written)
  • Results-driven leader with proven ability in process improvement
  • Data-driven, decision maker
  • Willing to travel within Ireland and UK as required
  • Self-starter who can operate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced organisation
