Software Engineer Graduate Program

Autodesk is seeking recent and upcoming graduates to join our UK headquarters in Birmingham as part of a 12-month rotational graduate-programme.

As a software engineer graduate, you will work in multiple Agile Scrum teams, each made up of 5-8 experienced software engineers, as part of a larger software development team working on Fusion 360 and reporting to our Engineering Director.

During the programme, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in writing clean, reliable code in different languages and technologies such as C++/Qt, Python, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and HTML.

You will also engage with Agile and Scrum working practices, develop Unit Tests, participate in code reviews, and use source control and Continuous Integration platforms such as GitHub and Jenkins.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including company share awards, a generous pension scheme, hybrid working, private medical cover, support for health and wellbeing, and an annual incentive scheme.

We encourage our staff to get to know each other, in and out of the office, with subsidised social activities. For those graduates wishing to work towards professional registration, our existing Chartered Engineers will help you achieve Chartered status with either the IET or IMechE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software solutions covering every aspect of the software development cycle.
  • Work on top-of-the-range hardware, writing clean, reliable code in different languages and technologies.
  • Engage with Agile and Scrum working practices.
  • Develop Unit Tests.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to standards.
  • Use source control and Continuous Integration platforms.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 120 UCAS points and predicted 1st or 2:1 degree.
  • Graduates with degrees in subjects like Computer Science, Maths, Physics, or Engineering.
  • Passionate about developing software for cutting-edge applications.
  • Programming experience at some level, ideally using a C-style language (e.g., C, C++, Java, C#), is desirable.
