Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a thriving, specialist international manufacturing organization based in Knowsley. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of plant machinery and equipment.

The Maintenance Engineer will work on a double day shift, addressing equipment challenges, managing reactive breakdowns, and leading continuous improvement initiatives, from minor Kaizen projects to significant capital endeavors. The primary objective is to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide critical support during equipment and machinery breakdowns, adhering to the breakdown escalation policy.
  • Facilitate rapid recovery from breakdowns through effective problem-solving and diagnostic testing to identify root causes.
  • Implement a continuous improvement approach across all maintenance activities, communicating potential enhancements.
  • Lead initiatives in maintenance continuous improvement, including identifying opportunities, data collection, and supporting the development of business cases.
  • Oversee the installation, relocation, and modification of machinery and equipment as necessary.
  • Conduct repairs, replacements, and refurbishments of various components and systems.
  • Execute planned maintenance tasks in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including Work Orders and Inventory Management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards in all maintenance tasks.
  • Uphold 5S standards across all maintenance work areas.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to synchronize maintenance efforts and minimize operational disruptions.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A relevant vocational qualification (e.g., NVQ, ONC, C&G, HNC, HND) along with an appropriate apprenticeship.
  • Experience in a Maintenance/Engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in identifying, designing, and implementing improvement projects.
