Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Leeds as a Health and Safety Manager. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of our occupational health and safety management system across a group of faculties and schools services.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate individual who can engage with a wide range of stakeholders and support the delivery of a varied and responsive health and safety strategy for the University. As a Health and Safety Manager, you will provide effective professional advice and use your previous experience in delivering a safety management system to include training, auditing, and the implementation of integrated electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive occupational health and safety management system that meets the University's needs and ensures compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  2. Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on health and safety matters, including risk assessments, hazard identification, and control measures.
  3. Lead and manage a team of health and safety professionals to implement the safety management system and achieve the University's health and safety objectives.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a cohesive and effective health and safety strategy that supports the University's overall goals and objectives.
  5. Monitor and review the effectiveness of the safety management system and make recommendations for improvement.
