Your Role and Responsibilities
  • We are seeking a Senior Engineer to assist team leaders in overseeing project execution, including task supervision and deliverable assessments.
  • You will enhance the urban drainage modelling expertise within the team, ensuring we remain at the cutting edge of advancements in the field, while also providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • Support the team leader in coordinating the activities of the local technical delivery group.
  • Offer technical insights on urban drainage initiatives and assist our wastewater division in executing ongoing and upcoming projects, influencing our future strategies for efficient delivery.
  • This role will allow you to further hone your technical abilities, applying your knowledge to help us advance in both technical excellence and service efficiency.
  • Utilize independent engineering judgment and explore opportunities to present innovative solutions to engineering challenges. You will be an engaged and collaborative team member.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships at all levels, facilitating project discussions both internally and with clients.
  • Engage in business development and proposal crafting.
  • Promote the WSP brand through relevant industry events and conferences.
  • Contribute to the collective knowledge of the team through knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A relevant degree and progress towards chartered status with ICE, IEI, IoW, or CIWEM.
  • Proven experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and the ability to validate the technical outputs of peers.
  • Solid understanding of Water Industry Specifications, the Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems, and applicable British Standards.
  • Effective presentation, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
