Job Title: Specialist Physiotherapist Neuro Rehab Band 6

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Neuro-Rehab team at Colchester Hospital. This is a fixed-term role until 31st March 2025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, treatment, and advice to patients with highly complex conditions in primary and secondary care settings. They will also carry out risk assessments and provide specialist advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The post is based in the Neurological Rehabilitation Department at Colchester General Hospital. Due to the community working and community clinics, a car owner and driver is essential.

About the Role
  • Provide specialist assessment, treatment, and advice to patients with highly complex conditions
  • Carry out risk assessments and provide specialist advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner managing own workload in neurology, including patients with highly specialist needs
  • Participate in delivering specialist training and supervision of junior staff, assistants, and students
Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Registered physiotherapist with HCPC
  • Professional knowledge and skills acquired through a combination of formal training, short courses, and experience to degree level or equivalent
  • Relevant post qualification training through short courses and/or further study and experience for example splinting and injections, working towards post graduate level of study
  • Registered member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Recognised registered qualification and further courses and experience relevant to the role
Experience
  • Substantial post registration experience working at Band 5 level in core rotations e.g. Musculoskeletal, Neurology, Respiratory
  • Competencies relevant to specialism
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary team
  • Experience of working as a Band 6
  • Experience of research/audit methodology
