Faculty Overview

The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at DMU educates and develops professionals who make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities, and society. Our four specialist schools - Allied Health Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Leicester School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine, and Leicester School of Pharmacy - work together to deliver high-quality education and research.

Role Summary

We are looking for an individual who wishes to develop a career in teaching and learning. As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine/Emergency Care, you will have experience of sharing your knowledge effectively with learners, through your own passion and commitment to teaching and high-quality service delivery. You will be a practitioner registered with the HCPC or the NMC with experience in the field of emergency care or paramedicine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Contribute to the assessment process for students, including setting, marking, and moderation of student work
  • Design and develop innovative and engaging learning materials and assessments
  • Participate fully in curriculum development, including personal knowledge and expertise in high standards for paramedicine and emergency care
  • Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Support students, supervisors, and assessors in clinical placements and across a variety of care settings
  • Engage in scholarship, research, and professional/external income generation activities

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong commitment to teaching and learning, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. You will also need to be able to design and develop innovative learning materials and assessments, and contribute to the assessment process for students.
