Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to support a large year 5 class in a 'Good' primary school. As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide support and guidance to students, helping them to develop their skills and confidence in English and Maths.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development among students.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to identify and address the needs of students.
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive and engaging curriculum, ensuring that students are motivated and engaged in their learning.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 or higher qualification in a relevant field.
  • At least 6 months of experience working in a school or other childcare setting.
  • Experience of working with children aged 4-11.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative and creativity to support students.
  • Availability to work 5 days a week, with a commitment to long-term work in a primary school.
  • Desirable: experience of working with key stage 2 children in a primary school, and confidence in delivering literacy and numeracy intervention groups.
