Job Overview
In this pivotal role, reporting directly to the Category Manager, the successful candidate will oversee and optimize a variety of intricate expenditures to ensure that Police Scotland receives proficient and effective procurement services aligned with the overarching organizational objectives and applicable regulations. This position entails managing a dedicated team of Procurement Officers and Procurement Assistants to achieve these goals.
The role will involve fostering continuous enhancement and delivering value-added outcomes across pertinent categories of non-pay expenditure, collaborating with all relevant suppliers to guarantee efficient, effective, and compliant procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of skilled procurement professionals, developing, executing, and managing all associated contracts across diverse contractual domains and specialties.
- Ensure the execution of efficient and effective tendering processes, alongside robust contract management, while adhering to legal and statutory obligations.
- Support the implementation of Procurement and Supply Chain policies throughout the organization.
- Contribute to the enhancement of Police Scotland's contracting capabilities, approaches, and risk management strategies.
- Facilitate the implementation of compliant, transparent, and value-driven spending decisions, promoting innovative procurement and collaborative partnership models.

Eligibility Criteria
