About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Practitioner to join our team in Saltcoats. As a Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting a lady with learning disabilities and a sensory impairment in her daily life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including cooking, housework, shopping, medication, personal care, and finances.
  • Support the lady in maintaining her independence and participating in her hobbies and interests.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the lady receives high-quality care and support.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the lady, her family, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A caring attitude and approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • An understanding of the importance of following guidelines and routines.
  • A positive approach to learning.
  • Confidence in the use of computers.
  • The ability to cook.
Working Arrangements

As we are dedicated to providing around-the-clock support, shift patterns will involve working 1000-1000 the next day (includes a sleepover). Weekends and public holidays will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Our sleepovers do not form part of your contracted hours, you will receive an additional payment of £96 for each sleepover that you work.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
