Position Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Versatile Engineering Technician to enhance their Litho division in Corby. This position is integral to the engineering team, focusing on both breakdown support and planned maintenance activities, while making informed decisions regarding solutions. The role operates on a two-shift rotation of 06:00 - 13:30 / 13:30 - 21:00, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering assistance for both breakdowns and planned maintenance.
- Identify and procure necessary parts and equipment for repairs and enhancements.
- Execute both electrical and mechanical installations within your expertise.
- Make logical and informed decisions regarding breakdown resolutions and project completions.
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs as per capability and requirements.
- Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance tasks to a high standard, ensuring safety at all times while managing reactive and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain all site assets to ensure reliability and compliance with site standards.
- Utilize SAP for documenting all maintenance activities (training will be provided).
- Achieve engineering standards across the site by offering functional support and expertise.
- Contribute to relevant Engineering KPIs.
- Implement a clearly communicated safe system of work for all tasks undertaken, ensuring proper risk assessments are conducted.
- Ensure accurate booking of parts to manage stock levels effectively.
- Collaborate effectively with both the engineering team and production staff.
- Adhere to all company certifications and standards.
- Actively participate in all Health and Safety protocols, utilizing available Health and Safety systems.
Required Skills and Experience
- Multi-Skilled Engineer with a focus on Electrical disciplines.
- Experience in a Production or Service environment, preferably within Print or FMCG sectors.
- Proven experience in Electrical/Mechanical installations.
- Ability to use PLC I/O as a diagnostic tool.
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
- Knowledgeable about current legislation and European directives relevant to this role.
- Self-driven and composed under pressure, with a logical approach to problem-solving while prioritizing safety.
- Innovative and proactive in their work.
- Flexible regarding work schedules and meticulous in task execution.
