Job Description

Commissioning Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Align JV. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning of all applicable equipment, systems, and machinery prior to being handed over to end users with the correct documentation and adequate training to ensure safe, reliable, and satisfactory operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimate commissioning durations and develop a comprehensive Commissioning Plan to achieve scheme deliverables as agreed by the design team, construction team, and Operations;
  • Review and update the plan as necessary in consultation with the project team to reflect changes during the commissioning period;
  • Ensure correct approval procedures are followed and all stakeholders are informed;
  • Implement the plan in accordance with approved HS2 and Align JV Commissioning Procedures, Align JV HSEQ procedures, and relevant HS2 Standards and Specifications;
  • Manage and deliver dry (and wet) commissioning and performance testing of new plant, ensuring all applicable standards and specifications are met during the commissioning phase.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline;
  • Ideal Chartered Membership of an appropriate Professional body (e.g. MICE);
  • Demonstrable experience of major projects;
  • Understanding of infrastructure construction projects;
  • Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations;
  • Familiarity with NEC3 Contract documentation;
  • Experience of regulatory compliance processes commensurate with the role.
