Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Shift Manager to join our team at Rudie's Kitchen, our production facility in Doncaster. As a key member of our site leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Rudie's Kitchen, including leading a team of up to 10 team leaders on shift.
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring we meet and exceed targets for tonnage, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Report daily and weekly KPIs, providing a detailed account of variances to the production plan, health and safety, people, and engineering priorities.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, ensuring we continuously scale and deliver excellence to our customers.
  • Lead, coach, and support team leaders to drive operational excellence, focusing on skills development and engaging teams through high growth and change.
  • Identify training needs for the team and individuals, ensuring adequate coaching and training to enhance flexibility and compliance.
  • Drive accountability and culture for safe working practices, partnering with the Health and Safety Lead and shift leadership team.
  • Ensure team members have a clear understanding of our company and team goals, and provide resources to achieve them.
  • Develop a highly motivated and inclusive team, adopting an open, visible, and supportive management style.

Requirements

  • Strong experience within the fast-moving consumer goods market (FMCG), preferably gained in the food industry within a team-oriented culture.
  • A good level of experience gained in a high-speed volume manufacturing environment.
  • Well-practiced planning, organization, and scheduling skills.
  • Someone who loves the pace and excitement of FMCG manufacturing.
  • Ideally, financial and budget control experience.
  • Easily approachable with good interpersonal skills, creative thinking, and analytical skills.
