Site Investigation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Investigation Engineer to join our national ground investigation team in Leeds. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations across the north of England and occasionally across the UK.
Your primary duties will include the supervision of site works, groundwater and ground gas monitoring, and the logging of soil and rock to BS5930. You will also be expected to work closely with our experienced team members to achieve your personal goals and develop your skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations
- Log soil and rock to BS5930
- Monitor groundwater and ground gas
- Work closely with team members to achieve personal goals
Requirements
- Hold a degree in geology or a related field
- Have experience in ground investigation, including site supervision and monitoring
- Be willing to spend most of your time on site, with occasional overnight stays
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be IT literate and able to write clear, concise reports
- Have a good understanding of health, safety, and environmental management
- Hold a full, clean driving license
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- CSCS card relevant to the position
- SMSTS training
- Cat and Genny training
- First Aid training
- Experience with the Openground suite of software
- Understanding of Health and Safety, including preparing health and safety documentation
- Preparing ground investigation works, including booking subcontractors
- Security Cleared
