Role Objective:

To generate regular MI reports for Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPA) to facilitate management reviews and informed decision-making regarding the bulk annuity sector, including a monthly MI package, pipeline updates, sales reporting, and risk MI.

The incumbent will also assist in achieving the strategic and commercial objectives set by the director, including contributing to business planning and market analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Ensure the timely and precise production of monthly (and ad-hoc as necessary) BPA management information packs, with a focus on clarifying KPIs.

This involves collaboration with various teams within BPA, including Pricing, Business Development, and Operations, as well as Finance teams.
2) Ensure timely and accurate reporting of BPA sales and pipeline metrics regularly, working closely with the pricing and business development teams.
3) Assist in updating and producing the BPA operational model and business planning outcomes.
4) Support the BPA commercial and risk manager in analyzing the BPA landscape, including gathering competitor, EBC, and scheme market intelligence.
5) Generate BPA division risk MI for management and senior committees.
6) Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes pertinent to data analytics and reporting in Bulk Annuities.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing suitable tools and systems to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, advocating for data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
7) Implement and integrate the Enterprise Risk Management framework within all reporting in the Bulk division.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the BPA market is desirable but not mandatory at the outset.
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and generating insights.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python, R) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Ability to influence colleagues to provide timely input.
  • Capability to present insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Creative and adaptable in their approach to work.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to utilize, interpret, and develop meaningful data.
  • Collaboration and facilitation skills.
  • Technical aptitude - demonstrates commitment to developing and enhancing technical knowledge and skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the UK life insurance sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work-based experience/qualification) in mathematics, business, finance, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
