About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our care team at St Monica Trust. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting and delivering care to our residents, promoting their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care to residents, ensuring their unique needs are met and their dignity is respected.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility needs, and infection control, working closely with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support residents with dementia, end-of-life care, and other complex needs, providing emotional support and comfort.
  • Contribute to handovers, team meetings, and supervisions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Accurately maintain records of care and regulatory needs, ensuring compliance with CQC requirements.
Requirements
  • Level 2 in Care (or equivalent qualification or experience) and a willingness to work towards Level 3.
  • Ability to provide effective personal care with dignity, assisting with nutrition, bathing, and toileting.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) level in maths and English, with a basic understanding of Word and Email.
  • Confident in using IT and familiar with dementia care principles, the Mental Capacity Act, and CQC requirements.
  • Experience of working with older people, those with disabilities, and/or dementia, preferably in a nursing home, hospital, or sheltered housing setting.
