St Monica Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver day-to-day holistic care to residents, including personal care, mobility support, and medication management.
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers, wellbeing coordinators, and therapy teams to provide engaging activities and promote resident well-being.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, their families, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and care planning.
  • Assist with nutrition, food choices, and mealtime support, promoting dignity and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of care and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with St Monica Trust's policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to handovers, team meetings, and supervisions, promoting a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 in Care (or equivalent qualification or experience) for Senior Care Assistants.
  • Ability to provide effective personal care with dignity, including assisting with nutrition, bathing, and toileting.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) level in maths and English.
  • Confident use of IT and basic understanding of Word/Email.
  • Awareness of older people's needs and some understanding of dementia.

Desirable:

  • Level 2 in Care (or equivalent qualification or experience).
  • Level 3 in Care (or willingness to work towards it) for Senior Care Assistants.
  • Experience working with older people, those with a disability, and/or dementia.
  • Experience working in a nursing home/hospital/sheltered housing/social care setting.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid, manual handling, and food and hygiene practices.
  • Awareness of regulations/framework established in the CQC Essential Standards of Quality and Safety and the Mental Capacity Act.
