Job Opportunity: Mechanical Supervisor

J3a Recruitment is proud to be supporting a market leader within the Water Industry, a Tier 1 Contractor with a proven track record of success in AMP 7 and ambitions for AMP 8.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their team and support projects around the Thames Valley area. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Ensuring Quality and Compliance
  • Monitoring the quality of sub-contract work to ensure it meets required Thames Water asset standards and project specifications.
  • Resolving site technical queries by liaison with the Design team and Project Engineering team.
Site Management and Support
  • Providing support to Site Managers with client liaison by attending meetings and reporting progress.
  • Maintaining a site diary to record work activities and resources used and to ensure a record of all work activities is maintained.
Operational Excellence
  • Ensuring that all site activity meets both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Contributing to profitability on site by maximising efficient use of manpower and plant resources and minimising abortive works.
Health and Safety
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
  • Assisting in the preparation/review of Method Statements, Lift Plans, Action Plans and Risk Assessments as appropriate.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Relevant Experience
  • Clean and wastewater mechanical installation and commissioning experience.
  • Capable of being appointed as authorised person for isolation and permit to work purposes.
Qualifications and Certifications
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification, Site supervisors' qualification, CSCS card.
Industry Knowledge
  • Water industry experience from a main contractor background - Essential.

Remuneration and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive:

  1. Competitive Salary
  • Salary £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience.

Location

The role is commutable from various locations including Reading, Bracknell, Basingstoke, Farnham, Guildford, Woking, Camberley, Slough, Didcot, Aldershot, Farnborough, Swindon, Wantage, Watford, and London.
