We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Specialist Glaucoma Practitioner to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our glaucoma service, you will work closely with our consultant ophthalmologists and advanced practitioners to provide expert care to patients with glaucoma.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients with glaucoma.
- Plan and undertake specialist clinical assessments of patients referred to the ophthalmic service.
- Monitor, review progress, and stop treatment in accordance with NICE guidelines, local policies, or individual clinical condition.
- Participate in consultant-led, CNS/SOP-led, and multidisciplinary clinics, patient reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide highly visible clinical presence, demonstrating expert knowledge, high standards of clinical practice, and support/advice when necessary to patients, staff, families, and carers.
- Support the professional development of others through supervision, assessment, and role modeling.
