Job Title: Innovation and Resilience Manager - Payments Infrastructure Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Innovation and Resilience Manager to join our team at DWH Recruitment. The successful candidate will work as a senior policy advisor on all issues relating to infrastructure developments and delivery across the UK payments landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with and facilitate the delivery of significant infrastructure changes within the payment ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with regulators, payment system operators, and industry stakeholders to drive the safe and efficient implementation of payment systems enhancements.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to members and other stakeholders on payment system implementation and operationalisation, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in payment regulations and policies, predominantly in the UK but also internationally, providing insights and guidance to industry participants.
  • Advocate for best practices and industry standards in the delivery of payment infrastructure projects.
  • Support the running of key member committees, ensuring efficient and effective operation.
  • Actively participate in committee meetings, contributing to discussions and providing expert advice on payment infrastructure matters.
  • Deputise for senior colleagues as required, representing the client in high-level industry meetings and discussions.
  • Prepare agendas, minutes, and other administrative documents for committee meetings, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the payments industry, including financial institutions, regulators, and technology providers.
  • Serve as a point of contact for industry participants seeking guidance on infrastructure delivery and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and manage infrastructure delivery projects when sponsored by the client or provide support if delivered through key stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the UK, Europe, and international payment ecosystems.
  • Knowledge and experience of the payments sector, demonstrating an understanding of the challenges faced by members in running their businesses, including the needs of members' customers and clients.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of key recent infrastructure delivery projects, such as Confirmation of Payee, RTGS Renewal, Faster Payments Service (FPS) enhancements, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), contactless card changes, and card system rule changes.
  • Capable of acting as a subject matter expert and credibly representing the client externally with speeches, webinars, conference panels, Chatham House discussions, and potentially the media.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with the ability to effectively manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to identify commercial opportunities and work collaboratively to realise them.
