An exciting opportunity has emerged for a dedicated and proactive nurse to become a vital member of the Wound Care Team within the Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust.
We are in search of a professional who possesses both interest and experience in managing patients with various wound conditions. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and exhibit kindness and compassion. You should be capable of working autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
We value exceptional communication skills and seek an individual who demonstrates a genuine passion for educating and mentoring staff at all levels within our organization. A key aspect of your role will involve contributing to the ongoing execution of the pressure ulcer prevention strategy and the formulation of additional tissue viability policies and guidelines, in partnership with the Tissue Viability Nurse Specialists. You will be tasked with assessing patients with intricate wounds and skin conditions, as well as implementing tailored treatment and management plans.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
- Serve as an effective role model for best practices, providing clinical advice as a specialist in tissue viability.
- Utilize clinical assessment skills to evaluate, treat, and advise on the management of patients with tissue viability needs and complex wounds.
- Support healthcare professionals in delivering quality, holistic, and individualized care plans related to tissue viability.
- Assist with complex dressing procedures in clinical settings.
- Provide guidance for vascular patients, offering specialized advice on identifying and managing leg ulcers and vascular skin conditions.
- Engage in new initiatives that lead to measurable improvements in care documentation related to tissue viability.
- Ensure that all patients, caregivers, and staff have access to pertinent information regarding the prevention and management of pressure ulcers and wound care treatments.
- Participate in the development of Trust-wide projects relevant to tissue viability, including Leg Ulcer and Pressure Ulcer Pathways, while interpreting and implementing National Guidelines to ensure best practices are adopted across the organization.
- Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and maintain accountability for your practice.
- Exercise professional skills in alignment with the NMC's position on The Scope of Professional Practice.
- Actively protect the rights and enhance the integrity of individuals and groups.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- BSc or equivalent health-related qualification
- Specialist training and experience to supplement professional knowledge
- Post-graduate qualifications in tissue viability, wound care, or leg ulcer management
- Leadership training
