Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Specialist Nurse to join our Haematology team at Northampton General Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of services and quality of care delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide acute pain specialist advice to support and facilitate high-quality individualized care to patients, relatives, and carers without supervision in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the lead for the Pain Clinic to develop services delivered and improve patient experience.
  • Carry responsibility for the APS, including setting high standards of care, assessing care needs, and developing, implementing, and evaluating protocols of care.
  • Be flexible in approach to the clinical area and act as a professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching, and research.
  • Work autonomously where required, utilizing specialist knowledge within the field, and provide expert advice to other healthcare professionals and patients/carers.
  • Promote the corporate image of NGH Trust to all individuals, groups, and organizations both within the Trust and to the community at large.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the interdisciplinary team, particularly the pain management consultants, critical care outreach team, palliative care, recovery staff, and surgical teams to ensure the needs of patients and their carers are appropriately addressed.

Requirements:

  • Competency to undertake Nurse/Practitioner led clinics and perform procedures required for the service.
