About the Role:

We are seeking a calm, patient, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist resource provision (SRP) in a mainstream primary school. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support and work in small groups with children who have long-term special educational needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, as needed
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Level 2 qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent
  • Relevant experience working with students with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of maintaining and updating EHCPS
