Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Military Vehicle Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at NP Aerospace. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for military vehicles, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for military vehicles, including electrical sub-systems and mechanical components.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure design solutions meet manufacturing and quality requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve design and product issues throughout the development and service lifecycle.
  • Support prototype system design and build, and input into the definition of V&V activity to support validation of Electrical Systems & components.
  • Ensure design solutions conform to customer requirements and contract specifications.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of successful involvement in design & development projects - inception to launch.
  • Experience in a design office using 3D CAD software, including SolidWorks and Pro Engineer CREO 6.
  • Experience using PLM software, preferably EPDM and Windchill 10.
  • Familiarity with Armoured Vehicle electrical sub-systems and configuration control and change management (Def Stan 05-57).
  • Experience in compiling Design FMEAs and robust engineering practices, including technical risk management.
