Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join our team at Accounting for International Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring the smooth running of our financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Manage the organization's financial transactions, including posting, reconciliations, and supplier payments, as well as staff and company expenses.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and issue financial reports, including donor reports, and ensure compliance with organizational and donor funding requirements.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the organization, including logistics, events planning, office supplies, premises management, and supplier management.
  • Financial Systems: Maintain and improve the organization's financial systems, including the fixed asset register, and ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Requirements
  • Accounting Professional: A qualified accounting professional with at least three years of experience working in an accounting role within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Attention to Detail: An astute individual with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Technical Skills: Competent IT user with experience in Excel and Sage, and ability to learn new financial systems and processes.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication and relationship management skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Interest in International Development: An interest in international development and human rights, and a commitment to the organization's mission and values.
