We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Mental Health Support Assistant at an inclusive and nurturing Primary School in Croydon.

Job Summary:
  • Initial 1-Year contract commencing in September 2024
  • FTE £25,000 [Pro-rata to £18,500 term-time only]
  • Mainstream Primary School in Croydon
  • £480 per week | £96 per day | Paid weekly on a PAYE basis
  • Providing support to 4-11 year olds with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Contract extensions available for those wanting to remain at the school beyond initial contract

Job Description:

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will provide classroom support to 4-11 year olds with Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech and Communication Difficulties, ADHD and Severe Social Anxieties. You will work closely with the teaching staff to develop and implement strategies to support the children's emotional and social needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individual and group support to children with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Developing and implementing behaviour plans to support children's emotional and social needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff to develop and implement strategies to support children's learning and well-being
  • Providing feedback and support to teaching staff on children's progress and development
